	A BSc degree (or equivalent) in a field of science relevant to your selected programme
	A Grade Point Average (GPA) for this BSc of at least 70% of the maximum grade
	Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Programme summary
Humans interact with animals in many different ways, ranging from raising livestock for food to keeping pets for pleasure. Animal husbandry and livestock development are constrained not only by technical factors such as feed supply, animal health, management and genetics, but also by infrastructural and socio-economic factors. Consequently, today’s animal scientists need in-depth scientific training combined with a critical attitude towards all factors that limit the sustainable development of animal husbandry. Students focus on specific disciplines such as nutrition, breeding, health or marketing with the aim of becoming experts in one of these fi elds. Our individually tailored programme trains animal scientists to have a broad view, ensuring that they are well equipped to tackle the problems of sustainable livestock management and providing proper care for companion animals, zoo animals and wildlife.

Your future career
Our graduates work as professionals within interdisciplinary teams in leading agro-food businesses (such as feed manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical companies or breeding organisations), or as policy-makers in regional and national governmental organisations. In addition, some graduates enter scientific careers at institutes or universities worldwide, while others continue their academic training in a PhD programme.
