 |
a focus on the role of literature, performing and multimedia arts in processes of cultural change
| |
a multi-disciplinary approach: the arts are studied from a historical, theoretical (semiotic, philosophical, sociological, economic, organizational, educational) and critical perspective. Particular attention goes not only to the aesthetic structure of works of art (from films to graphic novels) but also to the functioning of arts in culture and their social and economic organization
| |
specialization in one of the involved art-forms, within the general framework of theoretical reflection on (inter-)arts and culture. |
The aim of the programme is to familiarize you with core issues, theories and methods of contemporary research on arts in culture, as well as on inter-art and inter-media relations. You are expected to reach the point where you can make their own contribution to the study of the field of the arts and culture, or work as an independent researcher in the public or private sector.

The programme prepares you to work in the various fields of the arts: as a researcher, as a critic, or in different kind of art & culture institutions and agencies (art policy, management, education…). The programme prepares you for: |
further academic research (through the application for a PhD position)
| |

| |
