Mental Health-Uni

Mental Health focuses on diagnostic skills, intervention strategies & research related to alleviating mental suffering in patients.

As of September 2011 the programme offers two specialisations, namely:

Adult Psychopathology
Students are required to take units in neuropsychological, psychotic and personality disorders, and will also learn clinical intervention strategies, diagnostics and skills in designing, executing and reporting scientific research. Students have the choice of either doing a clinical internship at a certified mental health centre or taking additional master's courses.

Child and Adolescent Psychopathology
Students are required to take units in internalising, developmental and externalising disorders in children and adolescents, and will also learn clinical intervention strategies, diagnostics and skills in designing, executing and reporting scientific research. Students have the choice of either doing a clinical internship at a certified mental health centre or taking additional master's courses.

Although in principle all study material is in English, the Dutch language is the standard for the master's programme in Mental Health. The Mental Health master's programme is available either as a one-year, full-time programme or as a two-year, part-time programme.
